I cherish the Christmas traditions we do as a family, like picking out our Christmas tree at the local tree farm and baking cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. On the day after Thanksgiving, or thereabouts, begin by snuggling up with your child and reading how Santa granted Christopher Pop-in-Kins’ wish, which was to spend time with children before he had to help Santa out on Christmas Eve. Then explain to your children that you’re going to hide the elf and that they must find him. This hide and seek game can be played once or on an ongoing basis until Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Eve, explain that it’s time for Christopher Pop-in-Kins to go help Santa deliver toys. This time when you hide the elf, make sure he can’t be found until his annual return the day after Thanksgiving. This is a family tradition your children will surely look forward to year after year!
